    As a Gaza-native, Takween moved to Michigan over 35 years ago and understands firsthand the implications of mental health griefs resulting from displacement, war, and generational trauma.

    As a native Michigander, Aminh cares deeply for community work. Her specialty includes working with young adults navigating adulthood, couples seeking counseling, and families with Special Needs.

After completing Level 1 of the Traditional Islamically Integrated Psychology training at the Khalil Center, Jessica incorporates spiritually guided themes into her sessions.

    She brings experience as a school teacher in Detroit and enjoys developing psycho-educational training for children.

  • Sarah Masad, TLLP, has experience in crisis counseling and domestic violence programs and facilitates faith-based support groups for high school students. She uses CBT, mindfulness, and culturally competent care to help clients manage stress, anxiety, and life transitions while building resilience.

    She specializes in supporting adolescents, teenagers, and young adults and periodically organizes faith-based events to enrich the community.

  • Omar Shaker is a Masters of Social Work student at the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor and a student at Miftaah Institute. Omar is a strong advocate for men's mental health and is passionate about working with individuals through grief, trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and OCD.

    As a Boston native, Omar brings his experience as a community leader to promote a greater understanding of what a Prophetic model for empathic relationships look like, focusing on ways mental health presents in the life of the Prophet (SAW).

    Samra aspires to pursue a career in social work, where she can draw on her experience, compassion, and advocacy skills to empower individuals and make a meaningful impact on their lives.
